OUR HISTORY

The Brentwood Community Foundation (BCF) has been a key service provider in Houston, focusing on education, the arts, health, and social services. As the parent organization of the Brentwood Economic Community Development Corporation, BCF has spearheaded many impactful initiatives for over thirty years.
Since its founding, BCF has worked with the City of Houston and others to deliver HIV/AIDS-related programs. In 1996, BCF started receiving federal funding for HIV/AIDS services, and in 1997, HUD funded the construction of an 18-bed transitional housing facility for HIV-positive men. From 1993 to 2022, Harris County supported housing for HIV-positive women, food pantries, and transportation.
BCF currently offers:
- Transitional housing (18 beds)
- Short-term rent, mortgage, and utility aid
- Health education, nutrition, and mental health counseling
- Grocery gift cards and food pantry access
- Scholarships for college students

BCF has received consistent support from government, and private foundations, and Brentwood Baptist Church.
To ensure the fiscal integrity of the program, our financial records are maintained using the QuickBooks system and reviewed annually by a certified public accountant. An annual audit is completed.
